Purple Power Smoothie

Beets are an amazing, earthy, tasting root. They're low in net carbohydrates and they're GREAT at staining what ever the heck you put them in. I had a salad, they stained the lettuce. I had ground turkey, the turkey turned bright pink! My fingers are stained as soon as I touch the purple power veggies. But oh they're so good. HOW TO COOK       I had some pretty large beets. Like, the size of a grown man's fist. How'd I cook them? Scrub the beets with a brush or the back of the sponge until its clean Find a dish that is relatively deep, toss those beets in there Spray the beets with non-stick cooking spray Fill the dish/pan with about an inch of water Cover the dish/pan with aluminum foil and stick it in the oven at 400F until the beets are fork tender When they are tender, and you're ready to peel them, cut it so it lays flat and use a knife to scrap the skin off. The Super-Fruit: Avocado

Avocados      Many health and fitness icons on social media now-a-days praise healthy fats. Specifically, avocados. I, on my own, love avocados. They are one of my most favorite fruits! The creamy yet firm texture, the nutty flavor, and don't even get me started on the color! Green is my favorite color.      According to Spruce Rd. , the color green emits the air of freshness and balance. It alludes to wealth and growth and positivity. It "naturally represents 'go'" (Spruce Rd).       So even psychologically, avocados are extremely appealing!      Why else are avos my main man when it comes to fruit? For starters, I am allergic to pectin. Most people I meet on the street have no idea what pectin is.
